Extra Benefits

ETU members enjoy a huge range of benefits outside of the workplace through our association with governments, other unions and a number of service providers.

TRAINING

The ETU offers heavily discounted training to our members for qualifications that can further your career. From Certificate IV in workplace health and safety or project management to basic rigging or scaffold tickets; we also have paid training for our delegates so you can be sure that ETU members are educated Union members.

MEMBERS EQUITY BANK

Designed to offer low cost home loans for Australian workers, The Australian Council of trade Unions (ACTU)    backed initiative quickly became an important benefit for the members of participating superannuation funds and affiliated trade unions.  ME Bank is now owned by a number of industry superannuation funds. Profits earned provide a return on investment for these funds and their members.

UNION SHOPPER

Union Shopper is here for members - simple as that.
And they strive to save members as much as they can through sheer buying power. The Union movement in Australia has over 2 million members so when the Union shopper rings a company they bring a lot more bargaining power than you or I individually. It’s just the same principle as a Union in a workplace.

LEGAL ASSISTANCE

Hall Payne Lawyers can assist ETU members with a number of legal services.

Members receive:
Fast and reliable service at discounted rates, Free initial consultation on any legal matter for the member or their spouse (please contact the Union office to arrange for a referral). Simple wills for members and their spouses at no charge.

AIP INJURY INSURANCE

All financial members of the ETU are covered by and accident and insurance policy that will compensate you if an accident or injury leaves you with some permanent loss of ability. This is just a bit of piece of mind in case you are hurt and are unable to continue in your chosen career.

BOARD REPRESENTATION

Your Union has your best interests at heart with representation on the Electrical Safety Board, Electrical Safety Education Committee, Electrical Equipment Committee, Electrical Licensing Committee, SPEC Super, ESI Super, CIRT, QUASITAB and other forums that represent electrical workers.
